Is Nevada ‘the most corrupt state when it comes to election integrity’?
Nevada ranks high in its election performance and has relatively few cases of voter fraud.
An analysis done by the Bipartisan Policy Center ranked Nevada tied for 10th among states in its election compliance at 83%. That assessment was based on the state’s "voter registration, casting a ballot, counting the vote, and cybersecurity and physical security." Mississippi ranked last at 16.7%.
According to the Elections Performance Index, a nonpartisan measure of U.S. election administration done by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Nevada scored 85/100 on its 2020 election performance. An MIT professor who runs the index said it takes into account convenience and security, although security can be challenging to measure.
An investigation conducted by the Associated Press found that local officials identified between 93 and 98 potential fraud cases out of 1.4 million ballots cast in Nevada in 2020.
