Is Nevada one of the most expensive states to own a car?

yes

Nevada is typically found to be one of the most expensive states to own a car.

A Forbes analysis updated earlier this month, which looked at gas prices, repair costs, insurance premiums and auto loan payments, ranked Nevada the most expensive state (tied with California to own a car.

Looking at insurance premiums, property taxes, the price of gasoline and maintenance costs, the insurance comparison service Insurify estimated that it cost Nevadans $6,315 to maintain a car in 2022 — the second highest expense among states, and 27% more than the national average.

Similarly, banking information website GoBankingRates ranked Nevada third in 2021 based on state sales tax, insurance premiums, gas costs and repair costs.

Also in 2021, the moving company Move.org ranked Nevada 11th based on slightly different metrics that included title and registration fees and average expenditures.
