The Dallas-Fort Worth area did not have an abnormally warm January in 2024.
Average January temperatures in the Dallas-Fort Worth area have remained relatively flat between 1899 and 2024, averaging 45.6 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the National Weather Service.
In January 2024, the average temperature was 43 degrees. The previous January, it was 52.1 degrees. The coldest and warmest average temperatures recorded in the period above were 33.8 degrees in 1978 and 55.5 degrees in 1923, respectively.
Average annual temperatures in DFW have increased modestly over the same period.
