The two North Texas metropolises would comprise 2,357,608 residents between them. Houston, the fourth-largest city in the country, has a population of 2,397,315.

Fort Worth was recently named the 10th-largest city in the U.S., a title previously held by Jacksonville. Cowtown currently has 1,028,117 residents. Dallas is one spot ahead with a population of 1,329,421.

Among the country’s 50 largest cities, Fort Worth is the fastest-growing, with an 11.88% population increase from 2020 to 2025.
