Wisconsin's Democratic Gov. Tony Evers, who won his re-election race early Wednesday, received five more votes than Republican candidate Tim Michels in the city of Port Washington, according to unofficial results from Ozaukee County.

Evers received 3,152 votes in Port Washington, compared to Michels' 3,147 votes, according to unofficial results. (The town of Port Washington is a separate community in Ozaukee County and not included in this total.)

In 2018, then-Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican, received 819 more votes than Evers in Port Washington, according to the Wisconsin Elections Commission.

Ozaukee County is one of the three "WOW" counties — Washington, Ozaukee and Waukesha — that surround Milwaukee County. Political observers often monitor the counties to understand the power of suburban Republican voters in any given election.

Total turnout in Ozaukee County in the 2022 midterms was 81.07%, according to the unofficial results.
