Is Tarrant County’s homeless rate as high as Dallas County’s?

The homeless rate in Tarrant County was not as high as Dallas County’s in 2023.

Dallas County has 163 homeless people per 100,000 residents, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the 2023 Point in Time Count.

Tarrant County has 126 homeless people per 100,000 residents.

The Point in Time Count records how many homeless people there are on a single night in January. 

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requires that Continuums of Care, a program committed to ending homelessness, count how many people are sheltered annually, and how many are unsheltered every other year.
