Did Michigan authorize a full forensic audit of the 2020 presidential election?

Dana Ford, Lead Stories

no

No new audits are planned, a spokeswoman for the Michigan secretary of state told Lead Stories on May 11, 2021.

Since the election, more than 250 audits have been completed, reflecting the largest number of audits ever conducted in Michigan's history.

A social media post claiming a new audit did not include any evidence or source to support its claim. Tracy Wimmer, spokeswoman for Michigan's secretary of state, told Lead Stories: "No idea what this rumor thinks it is referring to, but no new audits are planned. We conducted more than 250 around the state and those were completed months ago."

On March 2, 2021, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson released a statement on the post-election audits. She said Michigan had conducted "more audits than ever before in our state's history, and each has reaffirmed the accuracy, security and integrity of the November 2020 election."
