Did gas prices in Missouri rise more than $1 after Operation Epic Fury?

Gas prices have climbed more than $1 in the months following the U.S.-Israeli military strike on Iran known as Operation Epic Fury, which began Feb. 28, 2026.

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis records average retail gas prices in the St. Louis metropolitan area. In February 2026, prices averaged around $2.83. In March, prices rose to $3.54. In April, they increased to $4.06 — a $1.23 rise from February.

The Energy Information Administration records a similar rise for the Midwest: $2.67 in February 2026 to $3.83 in April 2026 and $4.39 in May.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Missouri is $3.94 as of June 3, 2026, according to AAA — up from $2.84 this time last year.
