Fact Brief: Is part of the Cupertino Union School District in San Jose’s city limits?

yes

Portions of Cupertino Union School District’s South and East boundaries extend into parts of San Jose and Saratoga.

Five  of the 23 schools  — De Vargas Elementary, Murdock-Portal Elementary, Muir Elementary, Dilworth Elementary and Miller Middle School — in the district have San Jose addresses. Two more schools — Blue Hills Elementary and Christa McAuliffe Elementary — have Saratoga addresses.

To be eligible to attend Cupertino Union School District, families must reside within the  boundaries of the district, regardless of what city they live in. If a family wants their child to attend a school in the  Cupertino Union School District, but is from outside the district’s boundaries, they’ll need to file for an inter-district transfer for the next school year.
