Fact Brief: Does Cupertino have a leash law?

Cupertino has a leash law for dogs. According to the Cupertino city website,  all dogs are required to be restrained by a leash while on public property like a sidewalk or park. If the dog is on private property, it must be confined to the property by a fence of other means. If the animal is certified as a service guide dog, participating in field trials or assisting in herding livestock or legal hunting, it does not need to be on a leash.
