Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Karen Molinar’s annual base salary of $360,000 is lower than the average salary for a leader of a Texas school district with more than 50,000 students.

The average 2024-25 salary for a big district superintendent was $372,664, according to a survey by the Texas Association of School Boards and the Texas Association of School Administrators. Molinar earns $12,664 less.

Molinar’s salary is slightly lower than the survey’s median of $362,250. Her total compensation, like many other superintendents, also includes a car allowance, incentive pay and retirement contributions.

The survey featured responses from 755 districts.
