Does Nevada guarantee universal paid sick leave?

yes

Nevada has one of the most progressive paid leave laws in the country, but it falls short of being universal.

Beginning on Jan. 1, 2020, Nevada guaranteed paid leave for those working at businesses with 50 or more employees.

For each hour worked, Nevada employees receive about 1 minute and 9 seconds (“0.01923 hours”) of paid leave. Employees may redeem their accrued leave after their 90th calendar day of work.

Fourteen states and the District of Columbia have paid sick leave, but only Nevada and Maine allow employees to take paid leave days without providing a reason. Illinois will become the third state in 2024, with a more generous rate of accrual and without minimum employee requirements.

There is no federal law guaranteeing paid leave, although the practice is common in other developed countries.

In the U.S., high-wage workers are three times more likely to have access to paid sick leave than low-wage workers.
