Do all states award $710 to drivers who have had no DUI offenses in the past three years?

By Christiana Dillard
NO

Despite the claims in a 13-second video circulating on social media, there is no evidence that such a program exists across all 50 states — or any state.

Lead Stories found no evidence of a nationwide program nor of any so-called SODA driving program. Related Google searches turned up no credible results.

Gary Biller, president of the National Motorists Association, told Lead Stories similar posts with different money amounts were disproven in Texas reports earlier this year.

"We have heard nothing about a DUI credit, and on its face, it seems absurd," Biller said.

A representative from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, an agency under the U.S. Department of Transportation, told Lead Stories, "NHTSA is not aware of the program that you are referring to."
