Did the Wisconsin Assembly vote to withdraw Joe Biden's ten electoral votes?

By Dana Ford
NO

A Republican representative in Wisconsin introduced a resolution calling for "reclaiming" President Biden's electoral votes, which he labeled as "fraudulent." Contrary to an online media report that was later corrected but that continued to spread, the full assembly did not vote to take action.

The resolution was referred to an assembly committee, and the chair of that committee — also a Republican — said there is "ZERO chance" he'll advance the resolution, which he alternately described as "illegal" and "just plain unconstitutional."

President Joe Biden won Wisconsin's ten electoral votes after beating former President Donald Trump by more than 20,000 votes in the 2020 election.

Legislative resolutions in Wisconsin are not submitted to the governor, and they are not law. They are used to publicly praise people, make public proclamations, to arrange committees and schedules of the Legislature, and to resolve House/Senate disagreements.
