Did a March 2021 poll show that 70% of Georgians said they would vote for former President Donald Trump in 2024?

By Arthur Brice
NO

The March 7-9, 2021, poll by Trafalgar Group/InsiderAdvantage notes that only likely GOP primary voters were polled on Trump. That question was not asked of Georgians of all party affiliations.

Several social media posts missed the context of the poll's Trump question -- that it was posed only to likely Republican primary voters and not to voters at large.

According to the poll, Trump was shown to have a lock on poll respondents who said they were likely Republican primary voters. Nearly 80% of those respondents said they definitely would vote for Trump or consider voting for him if he were to run for president in 2024. About 14% of respondents said they would vote for anyone other than Trump.
