Did 13% of Fort Worth ISD students in 2022 score high enough on SAT or ACT to be career ready?

Preliminary numbers for Fort Worth ISD’s graduating class of 2022 showed 13% of graduates met Texas Education Agency-set expectations on the SAT or ACT.
The state considers several factors in determining whether students meet its college, career and military readiness requirements. Career readiness is considered in the state’s annual grading of individual schools and school districts.
To meet the state’s readiness requirement, students must either:
- Score at least a 19 on either their English or math tests and have at least a 23 composite score on the ACT.
- Score at least 480 on reading and writing and 530 on math on the SAT.
The Fort Worth ISD school board set goals to increase the percentage of graduates who meet SAT or ACT criteria to be considered ready for college, a career or the military. The goal for the Class of 2022 was 26%; for the Class of 2023, it was 27%.
