NO
Some people on social media are claiming that being forced to carry a vaccine passport is an invasion of their privacy—and comparing themselves to people on the sex offender registry, who they say don't have to identify themselves as such.
It does depend on what state the offender lives in, but their privacy has nothing to do with it.
Sex offenders who were convicted of a sex offense against a minor also have to have a marking in their actual passport saying, "THE BEARER WAS CONVICTED OF A SEX OFFENSE AGAINST A MINOR, AND IS A COVERED SEX OFFENDER PURSUANT TO 22 USC 212B(C)(1)."
This fact brief is responsive to conversations such as this one.
