Are Arizona doctors offering subscriptions for better healthcare?
At least five major Arizona medical practices now offer monthly membership fees for exclusive primary care. The practice is part of a national trend that grew by 83% from 2018 to 2023, according to a 2025 study led by researchers at Harvard, Johns Hopkins and Oregon Health and Science University.
In Arizona, the membership model has two distinct categories. HonorHealth and Banner Executive Health and Wellness offer concierge programs, which include same-day appointments, direct communication with a health team, members-only waiting rooms and personal access to physicians on weekends and holidays. Ark Family Health, Prime Direct Health and Tempe Primary Care offer direct primary care, charging a flat monthly fee that covers unlimited doctor visits.
HonorHealth, Banner and Tempe Primary Care also accept traditional health insurance.
