Will Denver have fewer electric bikes and scooters for rent under its new vendor?

yes

The number of electric bikes and scooters available for rent in Denver is set to drop by up to several hundred vehicles with the city’s switch to a new vendor.

Under its contract with Veo, Denver’s new micromobility supplier, the city’s fleet of bikes and scooters will be capped at 9,000. That’s a 6% drop from August 2025, when the number of vehicles provided by previous vendors Lime and Bird peaked at roughly 9,500.

Veo signed a three-year contract with Denver in April to become the city’s sole micromobility vendor starting May 1. The company had deployed 7,200 electric scooters and bikes to Denver by late May, with plans to roll out its full fleet by June 15.

Veo charges most riders a $1 unlock fee and $0.39 per minute of riding, though Denver residents pay as little as $0.13 per minute.
