NO
In September 2022, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced nearly $89 million — not billion — in grants for a highway project in Washoe County through the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America program.
The project will add two lanes along approximately three miles of U.S. Highway 395 and create a street along a 2.5-mile stretch of North Virginia Street equipped with sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, bike lanes, and improved transit stops to ease traffic congestion and improve safety.
Nevada is scheduled to receive $2.7 billion in federal funding for highway improvement programs over five years as a result of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
