Are average gas prices in Wisconsin below $3?
On Dec. 7, the average price of gas in Wisconsin was $2.97/gallon, according to AAA.
On the same day, the national average was around $3.36/gallon. Gas prices are falling nationwide and are closer to the prices before Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
A week earlier, average gas prices in Wisconsin were $3.12/gallon. A month ago, the average price was $3.84/gallon.
The AAA's map shows that prices were lowest in Outagamie County, at $2.78/gallon, and highest in Ashland County, at $3.40/gallon.
In the Milwaukee-Waukesha region, the average price was $2.94. Prices in the Madison area were around $3.03. In the Green Bay area, gas was averaging $2.95/gallon.
A spokesperson for AAA Wisconsin told Spectrum News 1 Wisconsin that production is increasing and demand is falling, a seasonal trend in fall and winter.
