Is Nevada considering a bill to allow non-citizens to serve on police forces?

yes

AB30, sponsored by the Committee on Government Affairs on behalf of the City of North Las Vegas, proposes to remove the requirement that a Nevada police officer be a U.S. citizen, as long as they are legally authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law.

The bill is to be considered by the 82nd (2023) Session of the Nevada Legislature. If approved, the law would go into effect Jan. 1, 2024.

Similar legislation, SB960, was passed last September in neighboring California.
