Is it legal for oversized commercial vehicles to park on Fort Worth residential streets?
It is illegal for any oversized commercial vehicle to be parked in any residential zoning in Fort Worth, the city said.
According to city code, there are two main qualifications for a commercial vehicle to be deemed oversized in Fort Worth: if it is designed to carry more than 15 passengers or has a total weight more than 15,000 pounds.
Oversized commercial vehicles include vehicles such as tow trucks, semitrucks, dump trucks, tractor trailers, buses or concrete-mixing trucks, according to American Legal Publishing.
Prohibited residential zoned areas include any portion of a rear yard, side yard or front yard, including driveways. This also includes areas of any district zoned for residential purposes.
