YES
In 2021, Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, now the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, tweeted his support for a Green New Deal: "It may look different depending on the state, but with the right approach, it would be the climate and jobs solution Wisconsin needs."
In a 2022 Senate campaign video about his climate priorities, Barnes did not mention the Green New Deal by name. However, he expressed support for key ideas within the proposal, including transitioning to 100% renewable energy and creating "good-paying jobs by investing in clean energy manufacturing."
Barnes' Senate campaign has also been endorsed by the Sunrise Movement, a group that supports a Green New Deal.
