Did Nevada experience attempts to vote twice in the 2022 general election?

By Todd Butterworth
YES

One month after the 2022 general election, the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office was aware of a “small, small number” of attempts to vote twice. Investigations will determine if each case was accidental or an attempt at voter fraud. The office has found the 2022 election similar to past elections in the incidence of voting anomalies.

The risk of someone voting twice is greatest across state lines because voter lists are maintained at the state, not the federal, level. However, states are increasingly comparing voter lists to prevent this type of fraud.

Investigations in Nevada following the 2020 general election found that 10 deceased people had ballots cast in their name, and another 10 people voted twice. Only one person was charged. Voter fraud is a felony in Nevada and may result in a fine and jail time.
