Did Nevada politician Jim Marchant appear to agree with a suggestion to shoot RNC and DNC officials?

By Eric Neugeboren
YES

Jim Marchant, a Republican running for U.S. Senate in Nevada in 2024, appeared to agree with a suggestion to shoot officials from the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee on a recent radio show.

During a June 20 episode of the What’s the Story/LeRue Book Hound show, co-host Ed Noel suggested “just take all the RNC and DNC people and stand them up side by side,” to which another co-host, Doug Ashby, said “and shoot them."

Marchant laughed and said “exactly” before explaining how he believes there is a “uniparty” in the U.S., with no discernible difference between Republicans and Democrats.

While it's likely this exchange was political hyperbole, Marchant has a reputation for sensationalism. He is known for espousing conspiracy theories about election fraud and other topics.

An officical with Marchant's campaign did not reply to a request for comment.
