Did Jim Marchant say that if his coalition of secretary of state candidates gets elected, Trump will be reelected president in 2024?

By Todd Butterworth
YES

At an October rally with former President Donald Trump in Minden, Nevada, Republican Jim Marchant, Republican Secretary of State candidate in Nevada, said:

“When I’m secretary of state of Nevada, we are going to fix it, and when my coalition of secretary of state candidates around the country get elected we’re going to fix the whole country, and President Trump is going to be president again in 2024."

The secretary of state serves as a state’s chief elections officer and, along with county elections officials, is responsible for ensuring free and fair elections.

In response to claims of widespread voter fraud in Nevada’s 2020 general election, Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske completed an official review, and multiple judges examined legal allegations. These inquiries found no evidence of widespread fraud.
