Did Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom say he is a ‘minor-attracted person’?

By Todd Butterworth
NO

In a video clip receiving attention on social media, Segerblom did not say that he is attracted to minors.

During the 36-second clip, filmed as he was leaving a Clark County Commission meeting, a handful of people began asking questions and making statements to Segerblom in a rapid-fire manner. Early in the exchange, someone said, “This guy’s a minor-attracted person,” which is a euphemism for a pedophile. Segerblom appeared to say, “Yes,” in response to this and the person responded, “He just admitted he’s a pedophile!”

Segerblom immediately followed up with “drag queens are not pedophiles” and “what’s your problem with the drag queens?” Given the totality of the exchange, it appears there was a misunderstanding.

After an inquiry to his office by Gigafact, Segerblom's spokesperson responded that the commissioner, "Did not fully hear, nor understand this individual's question."
