Are Colorado flu shots at their lowest in years?

no

More Coloradans have received flu shots so far this season compared with the same period last year, and the state’s vaccination rate has also increased.

As of Feb. 4, just over 1.8 million Coloradans have gotten their flu shot, state public health data shows. That’s roughly a 30.4% vaccination rate, based on state population data, up from 29.9% during the same period last year, a Colorado Sun analysis shows. Before this year’s flu season, flu vaccination rates had been steadily declining since peaking in 2020 at 36.2%.Despite the uptick this season, the total number of immunizations administered is still lower than it was between 2020 and 2023, which saw between 1.8 million and 1.9 million vaccinations as of Feb. 4 of each year. The midseason vaccination rate hit its lowest point since 2013 during the 2014-2015 season, at 17.1%.
