Were average gas prices below $2 per gallon anywhere in Nevada in December 2025?
Average gas prices are not below $2 per gallon anywhere in Nevada as of December 2025, according to the American Automobile Association’s (AAA) price monitor.
On Dec. 22, 2025, a gallon of gas in Nevada cost $3.42 on average.
The highest average gas price on Dec. 22 was in Washoe County and the lowest was in Lander County. Nevada’s gas prices are higher than the national average of $2.86 per gallon.
GasBuddy, a website tracking individual stations’ prices, lists only one Nevada station selling gas for less than $2 per gallon, a Pilot Travel Center in Elko County where the Dec. 22 price was $1.99 per gallon.
Experts attribute Nevada’s higher fuel prices to its reliance on California oil refineries, where maintenance issues can cause a bottleneck in gas access.
Prices declined slightly this year. On Dec. 22, 2024, Nevada’s average gas price was $3.61 per gallon.
