Is the number one cause of death for police now COVID-19?

By Alexis Tereszcuk
YES

Sometimes social media is right on the money.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund has published a report that stated COVID-19-related fatalities are "the single highest cause of law enforcement deaths occurring in the first six months of 2021."

And according to the Fraternal Order of Police, COVID has caused more deaths among law enforcement officers than any other factor.

This fact brief is responsive to conversations such as this one.
