YES

Vice President Kamala Harris visited the U.S.-Mexico border June 25, 2021, stopping in El Paso, Texas, to tour a Border Patrol processing center and a port of entry, El Paso Matters reported.

President Biden in March 2021 tapped Harris to tackle the immigration challenge at the border and work with Central American nations to address migration’s root causes, the Associated Press reported.

Harris visited Mexico and Guatemala in 2021, CNN reported, and Honduras in 2022, a White House press release stated.

Far-right social media accounts, such as @InsurrectionBarbie, have claimed Harris has never visited the border.

The claim resurfaced after Biden dropped out of the presidential race in July 2024 and endorsed Harris, who accepted the Democratic party’s nomination Aug. 22, 2024.

In an NBC interview that aired June 8, 2021, Harris stated: “We have been to the border.” Host Lester Holt responded, “You have not been to the border.”
