Does new polling suggest a majority of Americans approve of how Joe Biden is handling his job as president?

By AP Staff
YES

President Joe Biden is heading into the next phase of his administration with a majority of Americans approving of his performance as president, according to an Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll published Monday. The survey shows Biden is buoyed in particular by the public’s broad backing for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

In the fourth month of his presidency, Biden’s overall approval rating sits at 63%. When it comes to the new Democratic president’s handling of the pandemic, 71% of Americans approve, including 47% of Republicans.

Since Biden took office, his approval rating has consistently been above 50% in reputable polls, including a Gallup survey released on April 23 that put the number at 57%.
