YES
Each year, Education Week publishes its “Quality Counts” reports comparing the education systems of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Its most recent report, the “Quality Counts: Chance-for-Success Index,” gives a snapshot of an average citizen’s chance for success over a lifetime, from early childhood into their career. In this report, only New Mexico ranked lower than Nevada.
Another education report, from Schoolaroo, is based on a more comprehensive set of measures. It ranks Nevada’s overall education system 46th nationally. This includes subrankings of 47th in student success, 42nd in school quality, and 21st in student safety.
